Everything about Redwood Shores California totally explained
Redwood Shores is a waterfront neighborhood on the
San Francisco Peninsula in
California. It is located on the eastern edge of
Belmont, but is actually part of incorporated
Redwood City.
Redwood Shores is mostly made up of high income single family homes, condos and townhomes. Single family homes tend to sell over a million dollars. Some of the houses by the water have private boating docks.
Redwood Shores was built up from
landfill in the marshes of the
San Francisco Bay in the
1960s, much like its neighbor on the north side,
Foster City. To the south it's bordered by the
San Carlos Airport.
From the
1960s to
1980s it was the home of the
Marine World/Africa U.S.A., California park, but in 1986 the park moved to
Vallejo, California (eventually becoming
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom), and the land was occupied by the headquarters of
Oracle Corporation. Redwood Shores is also the home to the headquarters of the large
video game publisher Electronic Arts (EA).
